Success at Kempton for Harry Fry with DBS Store Opening Batsman
24/02/2013
DBS Stores Sales purchase Opening Batsman is Cheltenham-bound after providing Harry Fry with the biggest highlight of his first season as a trainer in his own right when winning the Racing Plus Chase at Kempton on Saturday.
On only his fourth start over fences, Opening Batsman under an excellent ride by Noel Fehily reversed Boxing Day results by beating the Paul Nicholls trained Rolling Aces by two lengths.
After his big race success Harry Fry said "Big winners on a Saturday is what it's all about and for a young team it shows what we can do in the future”.
The seven year old novice, who is owned by The Twelfth Man Partnership that includes cricketer Andrew Brassington, was sold at the DBS Spring Store Sales by Coolamurry Stud and purchased by Highflyer Bloodstock for £10,000. Click here to view Opening Batsman’s pedigree.
