Spring Sales big race double at Haydock
16/02/2013

Across The Bay was the first leg of a big race double for the DBS Spring Sales when successful in the Grade 2 Rendlesham Hurdle at Haydock. The Donald McCain trained son of Bob’s Return was winning his seventh race for the Scotch Piper Syndicate afters selling for £10,000 at the DBS Spring HIT Sales 2011.

The success continued when Well Refreshed won the Grade 3 Grand National Trial at the same venue. The Gary Moore trained son of Nikos was winning his fifth race and was sold by Goldford Stud to Coolanna Lodge for £18,000 at the DBS Spring Store Sales before being re-sold for £20,000 to David Phelan at the Spring HIT Sales.

Then next chance to be part of this big race success is the DBS NH Festival Sales which takes place after racing on a vastly improved card at Newbury Racecourse on Saturday 23 March 2013. The timing of this sale is perfect to offer a horse with an entry at the Punchestown or Aintree Festival and six figure prices of £220,000, £155,000, £150,000, £120,0000, £100,000 etc, were coupled with an average of over £62,000 in 2012, while the second highest price for an Irish Point to Point horse at public auction in 2012 was at Newbury.  Click here to make a nomination or contact George Stanners at DBS on george.stanners@goffsdbs.com or 07704 581700.
