Strong Suit On Target For Breeders Cup After Champions Day Success
DBS Premier Yearling Strong Suit is Breeders Cup-bound following an impressive victory in the Group 2 Burj Khalifa Challenge Stakes on Champions Day at Newmarket this afternoon.
The 13/8 favourite oozed class as he struck for home two furlongs out and went clear to win under Richard Hughes by an easy 4 ½ lengths from Chachamaidee.
The Richard Hannon trained Rahy colt, winner of the Group 2 Coventry Stakes and Group 1 placed twice at two, landed the Group 2 Lennox Stakes last time out at Goodwood and prior to that was placed in the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat and won the Group 3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. He is now quoted as low as 3/1 for the Breeders Cup Mile at Churchill Downs on 5th November.
Strong Suit is owned by Qatar Bloodstock Ltd and was sold by Pier House Stud to Peter Doyle Bloodstock for £40,000 at the DBS Premier Yearling Sales 2009. Click here to view pedigree: http://www.dbsauctions.com/pdf/dbs/65/81_451.pdf
