Dream Ahead and Tangerine Trees provide a Group 1 double for DBS

DBS Breezer Dream Ahead won his fifth Group 1 race at Longchamp when getting the better of the outstanding Goldikova to land the Group 1 Prix De La Foret on his first attempt at seven furlongs for trainer David Simcock.

The three year old son of Diktat has now won three Group 1 races in 2011 and may now race at the Breeders Cup and in Hong Kong before the end of the season after owner Khalifa Dasmal has sold part of him to American investment group SF Bloodstock and Ballylinch Stud, whose manager John O'Connor said: ‘We'll now have a discussion. It's likely that was his final race, but nothing is certain as the horse is fairly fresh, sound and at the peak of his form.’

Dream Ahead was sold by Tally Ho Stud to Blandford Bloodstock for £36,000 at the DBS Breeze Up Sales 2010. He now boasts earnings over £810,000.

His success was matched by the victory of Tangerine Trees in the Group 1 Prix De L’Abbaye over five furlongs. The son of Mind Games is trained by Bryan Smart and was winning at the highest level for the first time, with fellow DBS yearling, Sole Power, back in third.

Tangerine Trees was offered for sale by Ash Tree Farm at the DBS October Sales 2006.

The catalogue for the DBS Autumn HIT and Yearling Sales (formerly the DBS October Sales) will be out on Wednesday 12 October. Click here to request a catalogue.
