Fourth Group 1 for DBS Breezer Dream Ahead


DBS Breezer Dream Ahead landed his fourth Group 1 victory when coming out on top of a thrilling three-way battle with Bated Breath and Hoof It in the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock yesterday.

The David Simcock-trained three-year-old, winner of this year’s Group 1 July Cup, is likely to be aimed at the Prix de la Foret or at Champions Day at Ascot.  Joint top rated two year old in 2010, the son of Diktat enjoyed Group 1 success in France last season winning the Prix Morny before going on to land the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes.

Dream Ahead was sold by Tally Ho Stud to Blandford Bloodstock for £36,000 at the 2010 DBS Breeze Up Sales and has earned over £650,000 in prize money to date.

Barbican, winner of the Ladbrokes Mobile Handicap at Ascot under top weight yesterday, is catalogued as Lot 153 at the Goffs/DBS St Leger Carnival Sales this Friday 9th September.

  • Listed Victory for Hoku in Norway

    Premier Yearling Sales graduate Hoku claimed her first Stakes win at Ovrevoll in Norway last night when beating the older horses in the Listed Lanwades Stud Stakes.  Trained by Bent Olsen, the three-year-old daughter of Holy Roman Emperor raced in the UK last year before being taken to Europe and last night’s success came at just her second start for her new stable.  Hoku is owned by Stall Cambre and was purchased by David Redvers from Grange Hill Stud at the 2012 DBS Premier Yearling Sales for £14,000. To view Hoku’s pedigree, click here. Premier Yearling Sales: 26-27 August.
